Flossmoor Community Church is a community of faith based in a historic neighborhood of Flossmoor and 27 miles south of Chicago. We are home to a Weekday Preschool, a Community House which is used for numerous community gatherings, and offer space to an after-school program, community choirs, and local organizations. Our staff includes 4 directors, 7 support staff, and 11 preschool teachers.

Our membership totals over 500 with an active membership base of over 300. Our church draws numerous children and youth from the community with various events throughout the year and on various Sundays we can see over 135 children & youth taking part in our programs.

Denominational Affiliation

Flossmoor Community Church is not affiliated with any one denomination. At the same time, FCC is not a non-denominational church. Instead, it is intentionally multi-denominational, which means that we both respect the denominational backgrounds that people may have experienced before coming to FCC and embrace the diverse perspectives those backgrounds bring to the table.

日本一本道a不卡免费The Pastor shall lead the people of God in the ways of Jesus Christ, working in partnership with staff and lay leaders to accomplish the mission and ministry of Flossmoor Community Church.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Pastor, working collaboratively with the Governing Board, shall provide spiritual leadership and vision, administrative oversight and organizational direction to the overall life of the church, ensuring that all aspects of a vital and effective parish ministry are provided.

As Head of Staff, the Pastor, working collaboratively with the other staff members, will supervise how the staff liaise with the Boards and Committees of the church:

  • Leading the church in living out FCC’s Mission Statement and Core Values
  • Providing for public worship (including weddings, memorial and funeral services) and the administration of the sacraments.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Lead weekly staff meetings, monthly Leadership Staff meetings, participate in monthly Governing Board meetings, and regular ministry area meetings
  2. Work closely with the Chair of the Governing Board in providing effective leadership for the total ministry of the church
  3. Participate fully in the life and ministry of the church
  4. Serve as “church ambassador” in the community and region
  5. Maintain good standing with ordaining denomination

  1. Completion of a Master of Divinity degree from an accredited seminary
  2. Ordination by a Protestant denomination
  3. At least 5 years of pastoral experience

The Pastor is accountable to the Governing Board through the Personnel Committee. Performance review annually.


The Pastor is annually provided two weeks of professional development, four weeks of vacation, and sabbatical at the conclusion of five years of ministry. This is a full-time exempt position with benefits provided as outlined in the Flossmoor Community Church Employee Policies and Practices Manual.


  • Completion of a Master of Divinity degree from an accredited seminary
  • Ordained pastor of good standing in a Protestant denomination
  • Five or more years of pastoral experience in a church setting

Time Commitment

日本一本道a不卡免费Full time, meaning we pray that our pastor will love us so much that they will want to be an integral part of our family. At the same time, we will pray for our pastor and support them in striving to achieve a healthy work-life balance, which is a delicate balance, indeed!


日本一本道a不卡免费All terms of compensation will be specific to each candidate. However, our church will provide salary commensurate with years of pastoral experience and the cost of living within our geographical area. Additional benefits that could be anticipated by a candidate would include housing allowance, health insurance, pension compensation, mileage allowance and professional development. There will be consideration for sabbatical and paid vacation based on years of service.
